Eliza Boote aka "Cowgirl Boote" plays music from the heart. She plays organic, timeless, poetic tunes that she calls "live music." Live, because her songs are a living extension of her emotional, physical, and intuitive experiences. Eliza grew up in Washington, D.C. , then spent six years living in Boulder, Colorado, studying creative writing and nurturing her creative side through poetics and the beautiful mountainous backdrop of the Rockies. In May 2006, she made the move to NYC, ready to explore the unknown. Something about the Big City forced her musical juices to flow and become her main focus. Some of her influences include Patti Smith, the Pixies, The Younger Sister Band, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Her greatest influences though, are rooted in things less fleeting, such as seagulls, hawks, the moon, the sea, elm trees, and the land. In her song entitled "The Banyan Tree" she sings: "the lizards have spoken, deaf, dumb, but awake like the desert's reins." This line speaks to the organic yet ephemeral nature of her music--true to the moment and timeless to the ear. Check out her music at myspace.com/elizaboote.
