Letters From The Reservation: Beyond the Borders of Fantasia...I mean, Colorado

Ladies and Gentleman, most of us have the good fortune of living in Colorado. A beautiful place where music and art frolic like vast herds of unicorns amongst the trees and streams. Two or three times a week and sometimes more, there is something going on here that is so amazing that buses and buses of people are inspired to go and frolic along with these magical creatures. And in the course of our frolicking, we've become a thriving community. That's all well and chill, but I have met people who have traveled far and wide, and I have heard tell of other lands beyond the borders of Fantasia, I mean, Colorado, in which they have amazing art and music also. So, we figured, hey....why not load up the bus and check some of it out. That is why, as you browse the calendar, you will notice several out-of-state trips, for your frolicking endjoyment.

A few other things to point out:

Firstly, tonight (if you're reading this tomorrow), or tomorrow (if you're reading this tonight), January 27th, STS9 is doing a Live PA set at the Fox. After that, EC is throwing a bash at The Root (on the Hill in Boulder) with Pnuma (Live PA), Lazer Sword, Eskmo, and Welder, for your late night Re:Creational endjoyment. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Secondly, The Basics Fund is about to get back to basics--back to the roots a little bit. We're rekindling an old flame called Diesel Powered Poetry & Open Mic. It's an Open Mic for poets, singer/songwriters, performance artists, spoken word speakers, whatever. We'll be doing this on the bus. There will be a microphone. There will be a featured artist. If you are interested in being that featured artist, let me know. Entrance to the bus will cost $5. It's not going anywhere, necessarily, but it might. There will be drinks. This will happen mostly in Boulder, but it will be wherever the bus happens to be. So, on Sunday evenings/afternoons, text your name and the word, "Diesel" to 303.579.6555, and I'll let you know where the bus will be. Sign-up list drops at 7. Show starts at 7:30.

Thirdly, I know it's far out, but I'm excited. We've got a birthday coming up in May, and by we I mean you and me and everyone who makes The Basics Fund what it is. We're going to be 2. Coincidentally, I'm going to be 30 a few days later, and so is my friend, Dave, who is super chill. We're throwing a party. It is going to be everything you ever dreamed it could be. Trust me, don't plan anything for May 23rd.
