Letters from the Reservation: The BTS Sporadically

Posted: 12:00 AM, Wed, Oct 15 2008

Good People of The Basics Fund!!! Hear me now as I speak unto you this:

EV. REE. ONE. LOOKS. GREAT. TOOOOONNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHT!

Here's the news....By the way, if we start doing a real newsletter someday, I'm thinking of calling it either, The BTS Sporadically (instead of Daily or Weekly), or The BTS Occasionally (same joke, different word). What do you think?

Moving right along:

Contents:
1) The Basics Fund Pics, Interview & Article run in Denver Insight (y'all is gettin' famous)
2) Jonson's new Book & Release Party
3) Worland Bus on Metro/Auraria Campus
4) Halloween
5) Pr-O-bama (SCI/MOTET/and Friends throw down to benefit Obama, Conscious Alliance, Zero Hero, and Little Old Us...The Basics Fund).
6) STS9 Atlanta NYE????????
7) Phish Virginia March?????????
8) Calendar

1) What can I say, we knew we were going to look good over STS9 Weekend back in September, so we invited Denver Insight up to Red Rocks for some hard-hitting news stories about how we get down. Follow the link to read the article: http://thebasicsfund.org/news/22

2) For those of us who have learned to read, or at least learned to listen to others read, Jonson Y. Kuhn, one of our artists, has just finished his newest book, The Midwest Travels of Cowgirl Boote & her Bitter Buffalo. There will be a release party on Monday 10/20 starting with food at 6 PM, and followed by performances by Jonson, as well as poets, Rob C. & Panama Soweto, and musicians, Tovio Roberts, Fellow Citizens, and Tailored Rage. The whole thing takes place between Blackberries Coffee Lounge and Crossroads Theatre, both of which are on 26th and Welton right across the street from Cervantes.

We are doing a free ride in the Warriors bus from Metro/Auraria Campus in Denver to this release. First Come First Served. Bus leaves at 5:45 SHARP!

3) Speaking of things that the Warrior bus is doing on Metro Campus on 10/20, The Warrior bus will be on Metro Campus on 10/20 from about 9 AM to 5:30.

Ryan Nelli, and possibly Ben Samples, and possibly some other people will be spinning on the nearby stage throughout the day.

We will be doing bus party sign-up, telling people what's up with the charity, selling our artists' merch, and getting stupid with all the smart kids between classes.

4) Halloween is going to be a crazy night. Either that or it might be a sexy nurse, it can't decide. Anyway, I'm going to be a bug monkey one night, and a monkey bug another. What are you going to be? More importantly, where are you going to be, and how are you going to be getting there? Girl Talk is leading the pack so far with 2 buses. Leftover and Motet are neck and neck with less than a half a bus each. Jedi Mind Tricks? No love yet. Do you think that the show that brings the most buses has the best music or just the downest fans? Good question, Bug Monkey, I don't know either.

5) Symbiotic Music Productions is doing it again; combining funky-ass music with good causes to create an event that is as good for our world as it is for the booties of those who like to shake booties inside of our world. The show is NOV 2nd at The Boulder Theate. Proceeds are going to support Obama, as well as to Conscious Alliance, Zero Hero, and The Basics Fund. We are also doing buses from Fort Collins and Denver. See our calendar at www.thebasicsfund.org/events for details. Spread the word, spread the love. Go to the show. Ride the bus!

6) STS9 in Atlanta? It's gonna be pricey..probably around 300 each, but shit...we're down if you are....are you? It's New Year's! .

7) Phish in Virginia? Who's going? Who gots tickets? This one is definitely happening.
